Who processes the data

What we store
On sign-up — your name, email address and password. The password is stored only as a hash: nobody can see it, the administration included. Whatever you add to your profile yourself. Your content: stories, chapters, comments, plus favourites, author subscriptions and view marks. Server logs hold the IP address, the page address, the time of the request and browser details.
Why
So that you can sign in and publish; so that your publications and profile can be shown to readers; to count views. Server logs protect the site: addresses that scan for pages, guess passwords or download the site automatically are blocked for a few hours. We send no newsletters.
Cookies and browser storage
refresh_token keeps you signed in; locale remembers your language; history_viewed and chapter_viewed (guests only, kept for a year) make a story or chapter view count once. After sign-in the browser keeps an access key in localStorage. There are no advertising or analytics cookies and no third-party counters.
Who we share it with
We do not sell or share data with third parties, except where the law requires it. The site runs on servers of the hosting provider DigitalOcean; database backups are kept on a separate server of the administration.
How long we keep it
Account data and content — for as long as the account exists. Server logs — up to 90 days. Database backups — up to 6 months; after an account is deleted its data leaves the backups as they rotate.
Your rights
You can find out what data about you is stored, correct it, and delete your account and content. Some of it can be changed in your profile settings; for the rest, write to the address on the Contacts page.
Changes
A new version of this policy is published on this page and applies from the moment of publication.
