Nikola Tesla (Serbian Nikola Tesla, English Nikola Tesla; July 10, 1856, Smilyan, Gospić, Austrian Empire - January 7, 1943, New York, USA) - American engineer and electronics physicist, inventor in the field of electrical and radio engineering, contributed significant contribution to the development of electrical engineering. Best known for developing the modern AC power system. After winning the “War of Currents” and demonstrating radio, he became one of the most famous personalities in the history of science of the twentieth century. Nikola Tesla had the unique ability to mentally simulate the operation of his inventions, just as engineers do now on modern computers.
